Projects
Projects come and go in my life. Many of them get abandoned from lost of interest, lack of resources, or bitrot before completion. I actively keep a text file of ideas that I'd like to implement. The ones that make it out of that text file get written about here.
Housing
For lack of a better name, I've created a housing bookmarking site to keep track of Craigslist housing ads. The app allows you to share ads with potential roommates, keep notes and tags about places you've seen, and extra utilities likes various maps. It's an on-going project, and I'd love to hear a better name for it. For now, it'll be known as housing
Yumify!
Yumify is a web application built on top of the Yelp! API. The purpose of the application is to make it as easy as possible to organize a group of buddies to eat out. We explored different ways to make the user interface as silky as possible. For example, there's no need for registration, and location is inferred by IP. The project's on hold until we get more time to work on it.
pSyfun
This is a project I worked on summer 2007 for my IBM ExtremeBlue internship.
WeightBuddy
This project is to help all the gym rats out there who need to track workout progress. I was stuck for a while on how input should be done for the weights. At first I thought it'd make sense for users to enter numbers into a form, but when I tried this out for myself, I really disliked it. My new idea is much more intuitive. More here later.
AnimeNook
Since I thought up of this idea a while ago, someone has registered the domain. It's not a huge worry since I wasn't too attached to the name anyways. Hopefully this project will get kick started again. With the proliferation of video streaming sites, it'd be fantastic if this site served as a one-stop shop for anime.
Update: I've bought a domain for it at Anizuka, but still haven't found the time to work on it. Some friends put together a cute CRUD app, but it isn't much at the moment and far from what I originally envisioned.
